Discoworld

It's Ultraworld!

Ultraworld is run by the blue mannys who hypno-eyes Cally using the power of disco. Later on they capture Avon and try to make him sleep so that the Core of Ultraworld can nom his brains.

Avon doesn't want to have sleeps, proving that - for all his cat-like traits in other ways - he is not a cat.

This is a nice shot showing the blue Ultramannys watching Avon not sleeping. The direction is really quite good in this at times, but the good points of Ultraworld are overshadowed by the bad, such as...

... the giant brain. It reminds me of Time and the Rani, which is funny because the big brain in that reminds me of Ultraworld.

It's not just bad special effects that bring down Ultraworld (in Blakes 7 bad effects are usually forgivable so long as the story is good), there is also the bit where Tarrant and Dayna are captured...

... and made to kiff while the Ultramannys watch.

Naughty Ultramannys.

As an excuse to have Tarrant and Dayna kiff, this is nowhere near as well executed or clever as the way Avon and Cally had to kiff in Sarcophagus, and coming only one episode later just highlights the difference in quality even more.

There are good shots of the Liberator flying in Ultraworld in Ultraworld.

Avon gets his brains back at the end. Tarrant and Dayna joke about maybe putting Avon and Cally's brains back the wrong way round by mistake, but there isn't enough time left for that to actually happen.
